The First Stone Counts.

Ezra 3 honors a real beginning before the whole restoration is complete, making room for both joy and memory at the foundation.

For someone rebuilding

Honor the first stone.

Let this reach the person whose beginning is real even though the work is unfinished.

Ezra 3 does not pretend the temple is complete. The foundation is laid, and that visible beginning becomes a reason for praise.

Joy and grief sound together. Some celebrate what is beginning while others remember what was lost. The first stone matters without erasing either feeling.
