Let this find someone whose care protected you even while they were helping you out.

Ebed-melech heard that Jeremiah was sinking, spoke to the king, and gathered men to bring him out. He acted with courage across a real power boundary.

Before the cords lifted Jeremiah, Ebed-melech lowered worn cloths and told him to place them underneath. Urgency did not make tenderness optional; the method of help mattered too.
