For someone walking home disappointed

Send them hope for the whole road.

A reminder that Jesus can be near before we recognize him.

The disciples walk away disappointed. They had hoped Jesus was the one, and they do not yet know that the stranger beside them is the risen Christ.

At the table, their eyes are opened. They realize their hearts had been warming on the road before they understood why. Hope had been near the whole way.
