A Near Hand.

Matthew 14 tells a story of courage that falters and mercy that moves immediately: Peter cries out, and Jesus takes hold.

Scripture · Source
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"
Matthew 14:31 · Word of God
For someone trying to keep stepping

Send them the near hand.

A reminder that Jesus does not wait for courage to look perfect before he takes hold.

Peter really does step out of the boat. For a moment, courage is working under his feet, and then the wind becomes louder than the step.

He does not have a polished prayer. He cries, "Lord, save me," and immediately Jesus stretches out his hand and takes hold of him.
